          What is the tax rate and ratio?
The tax rate for 2006 is $4.10 per $100 of assessed value.

The ratio for 2006 is 82.25%.


          How do I get a copy of my assessment notice?
Every year on or about February 1, notices of property tax assessments are mailed to owners of taxable properties. Please contact the Assessors Office at 609-989-3083 or email at phice@trentonnj.org. for duplicate information.  You must include the property location and assessment year.


          How can I reduce my taxes without appealing my tax assessment?

The Assessor's office can review assessments at any time during the year for adjustment to the following year.  There are property tax deductions and exemptions available for Senior citizens, Veterans, and Disabled Persons. Abatements and exemptions for new construction and improvements to properties are also available.  Applications and instructions for filing are linked to this site.



          How do I appeal my assessment?
Property assessments can be appealed by April 1 each year.  If an added assessment bill was generated in October, the assessment can be appealed by December 1 of that year.

Forms are available in the Tax Assessor's Office and at the Mercer County Board of Taxation, located at 640 S Broad St. Always discuss assessment issues with the Tax Assessor before filing an appeal.
