MANUFACTURING IN TRENTON
Makers Day
July 29th from 12 to 4 pm, Makers Day will be held in the Roebling Wire Works building.
Sixty-nine manufacturing companies are in Trenton, many of whom are expanding their business; City Beef, Hutchinson Industries, Case Pork Roll and others aren’t just surviving—they are expanding and hiring. Trenton also has artists, programmers, fashion designers and a rich industrial history.
Maker’s Day will celebrate Trenton makers with demos, exhibits and hands-on activities for kids from 6th to 12th grade.
Make flashlights with Tektite; talk about explosion-proof tires with Hutchinson Industries; watch drones, play with a 3D printer and littleBits electronics with Code for Trenton; help make dresses with Mercer County Community College; design websites with Shiloh CDC; watch Wills Kinsley the bike welder in action; watch Capital City Farm demo turning used materials into recycled planters; learn about Trenton's manufacturing history with Clifford Zink and the Trenton Free Public Library; and check out videos from New Jersey advanced Manufacturing Talent Network.
