The Department of Finance is responsible for the accounting of all City revenue and expenditures, for custody of receipts and the disbursement of City funds, and for safe guarding the City's financial interests in accordance with state statutes.

The Tax Assessor's Office is responsible for establishing the value of exempt and taxable property located in the City of Trenton. It reviews applications for tax exemptions and abatements. The Assessor's Office also maintains current tax maps of the city as a public record noting all changes in ownership or character of real property. Property Tax Deductions
Property owners who are permanently disabled, senior citizens, or veterans may qualify for a property tax deductions if they meet income and residency requirements.
