Task Force One
The members of Task Force One are comprised of Rescue One, Hazmat One, Engine One and Ladder One. Many of these men are HazMat Tech, Scuba, Confined Space, High Angle, Trench Rescue, and Auto Extrication Certified.
The members of this elite unit are not only professional firefighters, but are capable of operating at building collapses, rigging, shoring, confined space operations, elevator rescues, Police evidence recovery, automobile accidents, and also water rescue and recovery. The members of R-1 are (High Angle Rope Technician) certified. Task Force One also responds to HazMat incidents involving unknown substances for the purpose of idenifying and mitigating all Hazardous Materal incidents. This unit works closely with DEP, EPA, Trenton Police, TEMS and all county wide Fire and Police Departments. Task Force One responds to all Mercer County and Bucks County incidents at the request of the local municipality.
The equipment that is carried on Task Force One consists of: The Holmatro Rescue System, Maxi-Force air bag system, Oxy-acetylene, Explosivemeter MSA, Oxygen Indicators, CO meters and tubes, and Thermal Imaging Cameras, Chain Saw , Circular Saw and accessories, the Hilti Gun, Communications, Ropes, High-Angle Rope equip., a Winch, Light Tower, Trench Jacks, Leak Sealing Kit, Long boards, and a Stokes Basket for patient transport, High-Rise Kits, SCUBA equip., Ring Cutter, Tripod, Sawzall, first-aid equip., and resuscitators, also inflatable boats for water operations. This is only a glimpse of what the Task Force carries. There are also many hand tools, such as forcible entry tools and other large pieces of equipment.
