The City of Trenton's workforce consists of approximately 1,750 employees, 90% of whom work within the State's Civil Service system. Any City resident may fill out an Application for Employment. Once downloaded and completed, job applications must be mailed or delivered to the Division of Personnel. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
Prospective employees may also come to the first floor of City Hall (Purchasing Department) and request an application in person. Upon filling out the application, please leave the application in the drop-in box. If you have any questions, there is a hotline phone available in the lobby. Prospective employees may use this phone to check your job application status, check basic pay rate information, verify job requirements and specifications, and ask questions about Civil Service regulations and personnel policies.
Once you have completed the application, your information will be placed in the City database. As positions become available, applicants with the requisite skills and experience will be contacted.
