The Division of  Solid Waste Management is responsible for the collection and disposal of solid waste materials, including (bulk items).  The Division has implemented such initiatives as the Cleaner Vision Program and the Graffiti Blasters Program to help beautify our city. For information regarding recycling please call The Mercer County Improvement Authority at (609) 278-8086.

Garbage collection Holiday schedule (Affects Garbage, Commercial Cardboard & Commercial Glass Pick-up)

Reminder: There is No Garbage, Commercial Cardboard, or Commercial Glass
collection on a Holiday. If any of these items is placed out for pick up, please remove it from the curb immediately. Failure to do so may result in fines.


Please remember, when your regularly scheduled pick up day resumes, garbage must be set out by 7 am on the day of collection, but no earlier than 10 pm on the night before collection; and, always recycle, it's the law!

CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION BEGAN DECEMBER 28, 2009
Christmas Tree collection is under way and will continue through Saturday, January 16th … and will always be on the days AFTER your regular trash collection days. So, if your garbage pickup is Monday and Thursday, Christmas Tree pickup will be on Tuesday and Friday. If your trash pick up is Tuesday and Friday, Christmas Trees will be picked up Wednesday and Saturday. If your trash pickup is Wednesday and Saturday, Christmas Tree pickup will be Thursday and Monday.

Just put your Christmas Tree out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. Be sure to remove all ornaments, lights, stands and tree bags. If you need more information, visit us online at www.trentonnj.org... Or call 989-3175.

TRASH PICKUP IS SUSPENDED ON HOLIDAYS in 2010
There will be no trash pickup on these scheduled Holidays in 2010, when the City of Trenton will be closed:
 
New Year’s Holiday - Friday, January 1st
Day After New Year - Monday, January 4th
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday - Monday, January 18th
Presidents Day - Monday, February 15th
Good Friday - Friday, April 2nd
Memorial Day - Monday, May, 31st
Independence Day - Monday, July 5th
Labor Day - Monday, September 6th
Columbus Day - Monday, October 11th
Veterans’ Day - Thursday, November 11th
Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 25th
Day after Thanksgiving - Friday, November 26th
Day Before Christmas - Friday, December 24th
