The City of Trenton recorded it’s first positive test of COVID-19 in a resident today. The Trentonian has been correctly following self-quarantine guidelines since they were tested last week.

We encourage all residents to practice self-isolation to the best of their ability.

The City is working with area hospitals to prepare infrastructure to facilitate mobile testing when test kits are made available by the State and Federal government.

City Council will be meeting remotely this week. Details on how to view the meeting and provide public input can be found on the City website.

All court sessions including the evening sessions for the Trenton Municipal Court have been canceled. All involved parties will be notified of the new court date. Trenton Municipal Court Mediation sessions have been canceled until further notice. Daily operations of the Trenton Municipal Court will be Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Trenton Municipal Court will remain open to allow payments, file a citizen complaint, post bail or address an active warrant or any other information inquiries. Citizens also may continue to make payments through the municipal court online payment system at NJMCDirect.com

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman reached out to our office today with further information for small businesses during this emergency. Directives from the Small Business Administration will be posted on the City website.

Mayor Gusciora has declared a State of Emergency for the City of Trenton due to concerns over COVID-19. This was done in consultation with Mercer County, the State of New Jersey, and the United States Government. We still have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the City as of this PSA.

Trenton Water Works has released updated information regarding service shut-offs, and guidelines pertaining to interactions with staff members.

The Department of Recreation has suspended usage of the City’s recreation centers, and established pick-up locations for children to take home dinners in the coming weeks. Please see the attached document for more information.

Trenton Municipal Court has suspended select court processes.

The Department of Health and Human Services is asking for volunteers from area non-profits and stakeholders should we need to call on them in the event of staffing shortage. Those who wish to volunteer can call 609-989-3242 to speak with a City representative.

Trenton Public Libraries at this time the have decided to postpone all Library programming, beginning Saturday, March 14th, until further notice. The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie will close from March 16 to April 1.

New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will extend expiration dates by two months for driver’s licenses, registrations, and inspection stickers expiring in March, April, and May.

Price gouging is illegal, and we should all remain vigilant. Any instances of price gouging should be reported to New Jersey’s Division of Community Affairs at 973-504-6240.

The United States Government has declared a state of emergency regarding COVID-19.

From Governor Murphy: Today, I am recommending the cancellation of all public gatherings of 250+ people, including parades, concerts, and sporting events. The State has also mandated that all utility shut-off orders be suspended.

In an abundance of caution, Mercer County has cancelled all events taking place at the Cure Auto Arena for the next two weeks.

Department Directors from the City of Trenton have all completed their Continuity of Operations Plans to ensure that essential services continue to be provided during this situation.
