NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF TRENTON, NEW JERSEY FY 2021 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM (HOME) EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT PROGRAM (ESG) AND REQUEST FOR FUNDING APPLICATIONS
Notice is hereby given that the City of Trenton, NJ is currently preparing its FY 2021 Annual Action Plan. The City will submit an Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the FY 2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, Home Investment Partnership (HOME) funds, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds on or about May 14, 2021. A public hearing on the needs of the community that can be met through the use of CDBG, HOME, and ESG funds; the past use of funds and the application process for organizations that wish to apply for funding will be held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at 6 p.m.

The Purpose of the Hearing is to: 1) Obtain the views of the community on the needs that can be met with the use of the federal funds; 2) Review performance of the federal grants programs; and 3) Share information on the available funding for the 2021 application cycle.
Beginning February 1, 2021, the City will make applications available for the following federally funded programs: Emergency Solutions Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant – CV, Community Development Block Grant – CV, and the HOME Investment Partnership. Applications will be due February 21, 2021.
The City will set aside an allocation for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Service programs. A separate opportunity to apply for Job Training/Career Readiness, Summer Youth Educational Enrichment and Recreational Programs will be announced at a later date.

The City expects to publish a summary of its proposed FY 2021 Annual Action Plan on or about March 22, 2021. A copy of these documents will be placed on public display for a thirty (30) day review period. A second public hearing will be advertised to present the proposed plan to the public. The City will consider comments on the proposed plan prior to adoption by the City Council before April 22, 2021. Proper notice of the display date and subsequent public hearing will be properly advertised.
