NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE FY 2019 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN AND VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING FOR CDBG AND ESG CARES ACT FUNDING 

The City of Trenton invites public comments on the 3rd Substantial Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Action Plan from May 18 through May 25, 2021. The Substantial Amendment is available for review on the City’s website: www.trentonnj.org/fedpublicnotices or van be emailed upon request by emailing gadouglas@trentonnj.org.    

The City of Trenton will hold a public hearing on Monday May 24, 2021 at 5:30p.m. virtually via Microsoft Teams due to the ongoing prohibitions on public gatherings. Anyone requiring special accommodations or who requires a presentation in a language other than English, please email gadouglas@trentonnj.org.

The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the use of additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program funds that have been allocated through the CARES Act to address the needs of the community to Prevent, Prepare and Respond to the spread of and mitigate the economic impacts caused by COVID-19.   

Comments on the Substantial Amendment may be submitted by participating in the public hearing as described above via Microsoft Teams or by emailing comments to gadouglas@trentonnj.org on or by 4:30 pm May 25, 2021.  Persons requiring information in alternative formats should also contact gadouglas@trentonnj.org.  

The City of Trenton intends to submit the Substantial Amendment to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or about June 4, 2021. City Council is expected to take action on Substantial Amendment on May 27, 2021 at their regular meeting.

La ciudad de Trenton invita a los comentarios públicos sobre la tercera enmienda sustancial al plan de acción anual del año fiscal 2019 del 18 de mayo al 25 de mayo de 2021. La enmienda sustancial está disponible para su revisión en el sitio web de la ciudad: www.trentonnj.org/fedpublicnotices o van ser enviado por correo electrónico a solicitud enviando un correo electrónico a gadouglas@trentonnj.org.

El propósito de la audiencia es discutir el uso de fondos adicionales del programa Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) y Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) que se han asignado a través de la Ley CARES para abordar las necesidades de la comunidad para prevenir, preparar y responder a la propagación y mitigación de los impactos económicos provocados por COVID-19.

La Ciudad de Trenton tiene la intención de presentar la Enmienda Sustancial al Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano (HUD) de EE. UU. El 4 de junio de 2021 o alrededor de esa fecha. Se espera que el Concejo Municipal tome medidas sobre la Enmienda Sustancial el 27 de mayo de 2021 en su reunión ordinaria.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC DISPLAY AND PUBLIC HEARING

FY 2021 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY

 

Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the Federal regulations at 24 CFR, Part 91 and the City of Trenton’s Citizen Participation Plan, the City of Trenton has prepared a new Annual Action Plan for FY 2021 for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The FY 2021 Annual Plan covers program period from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.  The City will receive a grant of $2,802,586.03 in CDBG funds; $890,749 in HOME funds and $252,442 in ESG funds for FY 2021.   The City intends to submit the application to HUD by May 14, 2021.

 

The City of Trenton will hold a public hearing on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 5:30pm. The hearing will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams due to the ongoing prohibitions on public gatherings.

REQUEST FOR FUNDING PROPOSALS
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG)
PUBLIC SERVICES
FY2021

Beginning April 7, 2021, the City will make applications available for the following federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Service programs:  

  • Youth Educational Enrichment
  • Youth Recreation 
  • Youth Crime Prevention and Personal Development 
  • Employability and Life Skills Development

If you are interested in submitting a proposal for consideration, you must apply via ZoomGrants https://www.zoomgrants.com/zgf/COTCDBG2021 . The application must be submitted with all required materials by 11:59 PM on May 12, 2021.

An RFP Assistance Workshop was previously conducted on February 10, 2021 to assist potential applicants in completing this year’s various proposal applications. Staff is always available to assist prior to the application due date.  If you are considering submitting an application for funding and are not sure if the project or program is eligible please email your questions to fgee@trentonnj.org.  

Additionally, if you  have any questions about any part of the application, contact Gabriel Douglas, by email to gadouglas@trentonnj.org  and indicate that this is a CDBG-FY21 application question(s) in the subject line and identify the agency/organization for which the question(s) is being asked. All questions will be answered via email.  Additionally, the questions and answers will be compiled and posted on the City of Trenton’s website.
