Trenton, N.J. - On Thursday, September 14 Mayor Reed Gusciora, City Council President Teska Frisby, North Ward Councilwoman Jennifer Williams along with New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC), East Trenton Collaborative (ETC), and partners and supporters gathered to celebrate the launch of the East Trenton Library Community Center rehabilitation project (701 North Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638).
Developed by NJCC’s real estate arm, Community Asset Preservation Corporation (CAPC), the restored East Trenton Library Community Center will serve as a hub for an array of community initiatives, including programs aimed at enhancing job readiness, adult education, employment training, and entrepreneurial development. The center will be run by the City of Trenton and ETC, among other partners.
Mayor Reed Gusciora affirmed, “This center will make such a difference in so many lives. Its focus will be to provide opportunities for educational enhancement and help our residents find success in their career and entrepreneurial endeavors. I look forward to this historic building once again opening to community residents.”
“This building is going to change lives,” Northward Councilwoman Jennifer Williams said. “The Phoenix is definitely rising, and it starts with projects such as this. This Community Center Library will positively change lives throughout the North Ward and Trenton. I’m really hopeful for what could happen here.
The community center, expected to open next year, will be used to serve the East Trenton community and its future generations, offering modernized library services, education, business, and job enhancement activities, along with other community programming.
