Trenton, N.J. – The City of Trenton invites residents and visitors to kick off the holiday season at the Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade celebration this Friday, December 5, 2025, at City Hall. The parade begins at 3:00 p.m., and the ceremony and performances at City Hall will start at 5:00 p.m. This festive event promises holiday cheer and family-friendly entertainment.
This year’s celebration begins with a parade traveling through all four wards, spreading Christmas cheer with carolers, holiday-themed floats, music, and gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Claus for any child who is outside along the parade route.
For those who miss the parade, City Hall will host musical and dance performances, a word from the Mayor and City officials, and a warming station with hot chocolate and cookies.
Once the parade arrives at City Hall, Santa and Mrs. Claus will disembark from their sleigh and help the Mayor and City officials light the tree. The gifts under the tree will then be distributed to children in the community. After all gifts have been handed out, families are invited to take photos with Santa in City Hall’s atrium.
