PURPOSE: Mercer County is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements on a vacant lot and Southard Park, located at 104 Ewing Street and 19 Southard Street, at the intersections of Ewing and Ogden and Ewing and Southard in Trenton.
PROJECT SCOPE: Mercer County proposes to create the following new facilities as the Harlan Joseph Peace Park: shade structures, a community stage, tables and seating, shade trees and gardens, and playground equipment.

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in person, prior to the regularly scheduled Commissioner meeting, at the Joyce L. McDade Administration Building – Room 211, 640 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ.
