North Trenton-Battle Monument Choice Neighborhood Survey

We need your help! Please take a quick survey about the North Trenton-Battle Monument Choice Neighborhood.

What is the survey for?

The Trenton Housing Authority (THA) with the City of Trenton is 1 of 4 applicants to receive a 2019 Choice Neighborhoods Planning and Action Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant will support a 2-year planning process to develop a vision and plan to revitalize Donnelly Homes (the largest public housing site in Trenton) and the surrounding neighborhood.

This survey is the first big step in the process. We are asking residents across the city who live, work, visit or are familiar with the North Trenton-Battle Monument Choice Neighborhood to share their comments and ideas. The quality of housing, education, employment opportunities, safety, transit alternatives, healthcare, exercise, shopping, and services are just a few of the issues the survey explores.

The results of the survey will be used to create the goals and strategies for the plan.

What is a Choice Neighborhood?

HUD’s Choice Neighborhoods program strives to bring together residents, local governments, nonprofits, developers, school districts, police departments, and civic organizations to create a common vision and develop effective strategies to revitalize their neighborhood. Choice Neighborhoods focus on three core goals:

  • Housing (replacing distressed public and assisted housing with high-quality mixed-income housing that responds to community needs)
  • People (improving opportunities for employment and income, health, education)
  • Neighborhood (enhancing safety, schools, commercial activity and services to offer the type of amenities that are important to residents).
