City of Trenton Announces Code Blue Alert

Trenton N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora has declared a Code Blue alert for the City of Trenton for Friday, February 3, 2023, and Saturday, February 4, 2023. A Code Blue Extreme Cold Alert may be declared when temperatures drop below freezing and weather conditions pose a danger to the homeless population.

Currently, the National Weather Service is predicting that the temperature will drop below 25 degrees on Friday night and Saturday night. As a result, The City of Trenton will be providing shelter at the Sam Naples Senior Center, located at 611 Chestnut Avenue, tomorrow, Friday, February 3, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Reed Gusciora affirmed, “During this critical time, I’m asking all Trentonians to look out for one another and share this critical information. We’ll be providing shelter to unsheltered populations in the coming days and we need this information to reach everyone.”

Additionally, the Rescue Mission of Trenton, located at 89 Ewing Street, will provide shelter for 24 hours during Code Blue Alerts if the temperature drops below 25 degrees Fahrenheit without precipitation or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit with precipitation.
