Trenton, NJ -- On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., at the CEAS Center, 509 Perry Street, Trenton, NJ, the City of Trenton will host NJCounts 2026, the annual Point-In-Time (PIT) count of individuals and households experiencing homelessness, in partnership with Mercer County and local service providers.

The morning will begin with remarks from Mayor W. Reed Gusciora and Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, followed by outreach and enumeration activities throughout the city and across Mercer County. Homeless services staff and trained community volunteers will canvas Trenton neighborhoods and other areas of the county to determine where housing-insecure residents stayed on the night of February 3.

The PIT count includes individuals and households residing in emergency shelters as well as those staying in outdoor locations not meant for human habitation. Conducted annually, NJCounts provides the City of Trenton with critical data on homelessness trends and helps inform local planning, coordination, and funding decisions aimed at strengthening housing stability and support services.

Opportunities for questions, photos, and videos will be available.
