Trenton, N.J. - On Tuesday, November 21 Mayor Reed Gusciora and the City of Trenton’s Department of Recreation in partnership with Mercer Street Friends and Troy and Tommi Vincent distributed over 1,500 turkeys for the city-wide Thanksgiving Giveaway. "On behalf of the entire Capital City, I would like to thank our Department of Recreation, Mercer Street Friends, and Troy and Tommi Vincent for their contributions to the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway in which over 1,500 turkeys were distributed throughout Trenton. Their collaborative effort supplied countless families with food they may not have otherwise been able to access. I wish everyone in Trenton a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.”
At the four locations, 150 turkeys were handed out at the West Ward, 150 at Juan Martinez Memorial Park, 150 at Greg Grant Park, and 500 at Unity Square Park. In addition to the turkeys issued at each site, 300 were given to the Trenton Police Department and 100 were sent to each senior and recreation center in the city.
