Upcoming Holiday Events in the Capital City

Trenton, N.J. - It’s that time of year again! Turn up the Mariah Carey, grab your eggnog, and enjoy the holiday cheer with these upcoming events in the Capital City!

Mill Hill Holiday House Tour – The 2023 Mill Hill Holiday House and Window Tour will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will be year 56 of Mill Hill’s signature event and the Trenton tradition. Homes will display special decorations, with some homeowners hosting visitors with holiday music, refreshments, and insight conversation. Tickets can be purchased here or the day of at Artworks.

Trent House Greens Sale and Open House -- The Trent House Association will hold its annual Greens Sale and Open House on Dec. 2 and 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 15 Market Street. Attendees can enjoy hot cider and chilled eggnog while shopping for wreaths and table arrangements decorated by the talented members of the Trenton Garden Club.

Tea for All Holiday Tea Traditions -- On Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Trenton Farmers Market at 960 Spruce Street, Tea-For-All will host Holiday Tea Traditions where attendees can discover holiday tea traditions that are enjoyed here at home and in select countries around the world while enjoying your favorite tea and some light fare. Admission is $5.

Hanukkah Celebration – On Thurs. Dec. 7 at City Hall (319 E State St) the City of Trenton will be celebrating Hanukkah with a candle lighting. Lighting of the first candle will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony – On Friday, Dec. 8, at Trenton City Hall (319 East State Street) the City of Trenton will be celebrating the holidays with a Christmas Tree Lighting. In addition to the lighting, there will also be special musical performances and an appearance from Santa Claus. The event starts at 4:30 p.m.

Photos with Santa – On Friday, Dec. 8 from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11 from 4 – 6 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 18 from 4 – 6 p.m., in City Hall’s Atrium (319 E State St) take picture with Santa Claus.

Trenton Children's Chorus Holiday Concert – Come see the kids perform on Saturday, Dec. 9, 5:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral at 801 West State Street.

Punk Rock Flea Market – On Dec. 9 and 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Cure Insurance Arena the Punk Rock Flea market will return to the Capital City. The event features food trucks, hundreds of vendors, celebrity guests, live music, live tattooing, evil holiday portraits, and more.

Trenton Music Makers Holiday Concert -- On Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:00 p.m., come enjoy a holiday performance at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Avenue.

Toy Giveaway – On Sunday, Dec. 17 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Unido Por Una Sonrisa will be hosting a toy giveaway at Unity Park. Bring your child to receive a free toy!

Old Barracks Patriots Week – From December 26 – 31, the week will consist of the Colonial Ball, puppet shows, the first battle of Trenton reenactment at the Battle of Trenton Monument, and the second battle of Trenton Reenactment at Mill Hill Park. 8th Annual Kwanzaa 365 Celebration – On Dec. 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., celebrate Kwanzaa with the Smith Family Foundation. The event will feature performances from the Watson-Johnson Dance Studio, Calvary Kids Choir, and Unuzi Drum. Following the ceremony, the Kinara lighting will take place at City Hall, 319 E. State St.

A Decade of Beautiful Music at the Patriot's Theater War Memorial – On Dec. 31 at 8:00 p.m. at the War Memorial come enjoy a concert featuring composer John Dickson and Richard Strauss’s “Don Juan”. For more information visit the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey’s website.
