Trenton, N.J. – On Saturday, April 19, the Easter Bunny will once again visit our Capital City. This century-old tradition will give local families the chance to see the Easter Bunny ride through Trenton on a fire truck beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The procession, escorted by the Trenton Fire Department, will pass through each Ward in the City before arriving at Cadwalader Park around 11:15 a.m. The route will kick off at the Fire Headquarters on Perry Street and include stops along the way at MLK Jr. Blvd., Clinton Ave., Hamilton Ave., Broad St., Pennington Ave., Stuyvesant Ave., Hillvista Blvd., and more. City residents are encouraged to step outside and wave as the Bunny makes its way through the neighborhoods.
At 11:30 a.m., the 104th Annual "Great Egg Hunt" celebration will officially begin in Cadwalader Park, featuring more than 5,000 hidden eggs across the park grounds. The event is free of charge for all Trenton children ages 12 and under, accompanied by an adult. One "golden egg' in each of the three group categories will earn the finder a brand-new bicycle.
The event will include a variety of activities such as face painting, games, music, a petting zoo, and a "best dressed" contest. But that's not all— every child at the park will receive a free treat from the "Bunny Patrol", courtesy of Trenton Kiwanis.
"The Great Egg Hunt is more than just a fun day in the park — it’s a celebration and a tradition that brings our community together,” said Mayor W. Reed Gusciora. “We’re proud to keep this event going strong for over a century, and I encourage families across the city to come out and enjoy the festivities."
This annual event is made possible through the partnership of the Trenton Department of Recreation, Natural Resources & Culture, the Trenton Fire Department, and the Kiwanis Club of Trenton.
