City of Trenton Announces Christmas Parade and 43-Foot Tree Lighting Celebration at City Hall

News & Announcements Posted on November 12, 2025

Trenton, N.J. – Tis the season in the Capital City. With the holiday season approaching, Trenton’s Christmas tree has arrived at City Hall in preparation for its lighting and Christmas parade.

The Norway Spruce tree from Pun’kin Hollow Farms in Stockton, NJ stands at a towering 43-feet tall and 20-feet wide. Decorated with over 19,000 LED lights and topped with a 48 -inch LED shimmering cool white 8-point star, the 35-year-old Christmas tree will shine bright enough to guide Santa straight to Trenton.

For decades, the City of Trenton has hosted a Christmas celebration during the first week of December. This year’s event starts with a parade traveling through all four wards, spreading Christmas cheer with carolers and music, holiday-themed floats, and gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Claus for any child who is outside during the parade.

For those who miss the parade, don’t fret, we will have musical and dance performances, a word from the Mayor and City officials, and a warming station with hot chocolate and cookies.

Once the parade reaches City Hall, Santa and Mrs. Claus will get off their sleigh and light the tree with the Mayor and City officials. The gifts under the tree will then be given out to the children of the community. After all gifts are distributed, families will be able to take pictures with Santa in City Hall’s atrium.

The festivities will take place on Friday, December 5th. The parade will leave City Hall at 3:00 pm, and the ceremony and performances will begin at City Hall at 5:00 pm.
