In Inaugural Speech, Mayor Gusciora Outlined Vision for Capital City

Trenton N.J. – On Friday, February 10, Mayor Reed Gusciora was officially inaugurated for his second term as Mayor of Trenton. The ceremony took place at 6 PM in the Patriots Theatre at the Trenton War Memorial, located at 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton, NJ.

In his speech, Mayor Reed Gusciora highlighted the mandate given to him by his decisive victory in the election. “Trentonians, you spoke in a unified voice and made it clear: You want us to make things happen. You want safe streets and parks, economic development to provide jobs, and clean water. You want a brighter future for your children, and a city that you can be proud of. You want to see action, not inaction. Agreement, not discord. Progress, not obstruction”

The Mayor outlined some of his plans for this next term, including completing the next phase of lead service line replacement, road paving, expanding economic development, and investing in youth, and expanding civilian-led crime reduction efforts. He also announced, “My Administration and Council will work diligently to have a lead-free Trenton.”

But as the Mayor noted, he cannot accomplish all of this alone. The newly elected City Council members will be important partners in reaching the Administration’s goals. He closed by stating, “Tonight, I’ve shared with you my vision. I look forward to working with my brother and sisters on this new Council, to turn a page in Trenton history, to work diligently for the people’s interests, to lay aside our differences, and from this point on, to strive for harmony for the collective good and in a united spirit.”
