The Trenton/Mercer Continuum of Care (CoC), Coordinated Entry (CE) system is the designated referral entity for Mercer County for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), Emergency Housing Voucher Program (EHV). This partnership with DCA requires CoC’s follow their CE process to verify eligibility for the EHV Program and to assist potential applicants with completing the EHV applications and gathering the required documents.
HUD requires CoC’s to operate a CE to help communities prioritize people who are most in need of assistance to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness. Homelessness is the primary focus of the CE system.
